The site can be approached from the perlite quarry, which passes near the old Roman road. The castle is located about 2 km south of the quarry, on a low prominent hill, inaccessible from the north side. The west side, which is most easily accessible, is protected by walls. The fortified wall encircles two platforms, with sizes 55/23 m and 36/21 m.The inner wall extends between two vertical cliffs, one of which has four carved rock niches.
There are nine chambers on the territory of the first platform, built of roughly cut stones, cemented with Kalov solution. The chambers are asymmetrical rectangles of different sizes (from 4.0/5.0 to 2.5/2.0 m). On this platform were found two earthenware jars with two stone slabs, which used to serve as lids. There are five chambers on the second platform, built in a similar manner. In 1973, organized archaeological excavations were conducted. It was discovered that the fortress was built in two stages: first - in the 6th century and the second - after the 11th century.
