Found in 1636. Albanian inhabitants settled in Mandritsa in the late 18th century from the region of Korca.
Typical for the village is the so called "Red Architecture." Here id one of the oldest churches in the Eastern Rhodopes - cemetery church "Holy Sunday", built in 1708.
In 2004 the village Mandritsa is included in the tourist route "Cultural and historical mysteries of the Eastern Rhodopes".
