Church "Holy Trinity"

The church "Holy Trinity" in town of Svilengrad was built in 1834 at the place which probably was the local meeting point of the Bulgarian population in these times. The church was built by voluntary donations of the Bulgarians from the three neighborhoods of the town - Bayandar (on tour. Nobleman), Kanakli (on tour. Suburb) and Gebran (on tour. -. infidel / Christian). The church вас burned in 1913 when there was a large fire in the town but later was restored in same form. In 1847 - 1948 year to the church was open the first secular school in Svilengard, which today bears the name of one of the founders and his first teachers - Hristo Popmarkov.
