Municipal Historical Museum - Ivaylovgrad was officially opened on 30.06.2009. Three exhibitions are arranged in a newly opened building of the Historical Museum - "Archaeology", "History of the town and the area before liberation" and "History after 1878." In the museum you can see ceramics from the ancient villa Armira, coins, parts of the Thracian chariot burial from excavations near the village Svirachi, artifacts from the fort "Lyutitsa." Besides archaeological findings there are rifles and pistols from the Russo-Turkish War, icons, and archival documents related to the life and work of revolutionaties Yani Popov Stambol Dimitrov. Visitors can get acquainted with the unique geographical and historical map of Bulgaria since 1913, as well as objects of urban life. Some of the exhibits were donated by local residents. The layout of the windows is work of artist Emmanuel Manolov.
