Lefkogeia Lakes
In the north Κ. Nevrokopiou and within 8 km an equally beautiful and important wetland environment is located, wich was created by the water volume of the artificial lake of Lefkogeia to meet the irrigation needs of 40,000 acres of farmland. Forest vegetation of the surrounding area consists mainly of pine and oak, while in some places grow poplars, maples, willows, hazels, etc.
The beautiful landscape that is created by the combination of forest vegetation and the water element, as well as the appropriately formed recreation areas that were built by the Forest Service on the banks of the lake, give visitors the opportunity to admire the splendor of nature and combine a walk in the forest, with fishing in the lake or observation and photographing species of wild fauna. Through a path that was built around the lake the visitor can walk around it covering a distance of 15 km. The route is ideal for biking with moderate difficulty. Along this route, but also in points of view that have been built around the lake, there are placed educational signs with various bird species that is very likely for the visitor to meet in the lake or in the surrounding forest areas and various fish species of the lake.

Each partner represents each region for the implementation of the Action 3.2 "Content Collection" for the approved applitcation form of JTI - TARGET project under "Greece - Bulgaria 2007 -2013" Interreg Call. The content including images, photos, graphics, texts, textures and in general all the data of the portal is in the responsibility of each partner. The content update and upload of each region belongs to each partner which has also the copyright for those content. This means that the content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Smolyan belongs to the Partner Regional Administration of Smolyan. The content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Haskovo belongs to the Partner Regional Administration of Haskovo, The content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Kardzhali belongs to the Partner Regional Administration of Kardzhali, The content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Region of East Macedonia & Thrace belongs to the Partner Region of East Macedonia & Thrace.
