Paranesti
Paranesti is a small town of Drama. Located on the road linking Drama with Stavroupoli of Xanthi. Has an altitude of 120 m and a permanent population of about 400 inhabitants. It is 40 km far from Drama and 22 km from Stavroupoli.
It is the last supply center for the trip in the hinterland of Paranesti area. The area is characterized by its rich natural beauty, with a great and rare vegetation, rich flora and fauna, streams with old arched bridges and beautiful waterfalls, while the scattered ruins and churches testify to human presence in previous decades.
The village also has a health center, police, schools, forestry, train station. For visitors there are two hotels, taverns, cafes, bars, gas station and various shops.
It definitely worths the effort to spend a short stroll through Environmental Education Center of Paranesti and the Natural History Museum of Rodopi. Launched in 2002 and offering the possibility of a multifaceted contact with its impressive natural environment of the mountains of Rodopi and the valley of Nestos.
In recent years in Paranesti every autumn conducted, with great success, international racing mountain virgin forest of Paranesti Virgin Forest Trail.
In Paranesti you can do rafting, trekking, flying fox, mountain bike, canoe, kayak, archery, paragliding, climbing, horse riding and jeep safari.

Each partner represents each region for the implementation of the Action 3.2 "Content Collection" for the approved applitcation form of JTI - TARGET project under "Greece - Bulgaria 2007 -2013" Interreg Call. The content including images, photos, graphics, texts, textures and in general all the data of the portal is in the responsibility of each partner. The content update and upload of each region belongs to each partner which has also the copyright for those content. This means that the content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Smolyan belongs to the Partner Regional Administration of Smolyan. The content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Haskovo belongs to the Partner Regional Administration of Haskovo, The content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Kardzhali belongs to the Partner Regional Administration of Kardzhali, The content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Region of East Macedonia & Thrace belongs to the Partner Region of East Macedonia & Thrace.
