Mosque "Seytlyar dzhamisi" - town of Krumovgrad

The "Seytlyar dzhamisi" mosque in Krumovgrad is located on "Saedinenie" Str. № 6. It was built using the foundations of an old style wooden mosque from the 16th -18th century, which was a prerequisite for the emergence of the city: there used to be Friday religious gatherings that lead to trade development, building of commercial warehouses and dwellings.
The mosque was built of wood in 1855. Its present form was built in the 1901-1904 year by Bulgarian mason builders from Momchilovtsi, Smolyan district. The Sadie family constructed it. It is square with with a four layer roof covered with Turkish tiles. It occupies a total area of 2152 square meters, of which 840 sqm are built-up area . In 191, a hall facing northwest was built. Religious rituals were performed in it.The walls of the mosque were built of crushed stones and mortared.The plinth, the building"s corners, moldings and the minaret were built of stone. The minaret is facing northwest. A madrasa was adjacent to the former wooden mosque.It was renewed in 1915 but knocked down later.The mosque has preserved its authenticity to a great extent. In the interior, the original wooden columns were replaced with concrete ones.
The mosque is functional.
